Portraits and Stories in Wood
Milling wood is more than a profession. It’s filled with history and preservation. One time I was lucky enough to be contacted by a family to salvage what was left of a Black Walnut tree that came over to California in 1870 on a covered wagon and was planted in the Valley. When the family sold the house, all that was asked was to never cut the tree down, which was honored. Unfortunately the main trunk deteriorated and fell from rot.
